Hyderabad | 17th December 2017
Responding to the violent incidents involving the Adivasi and the Lambada communities over the past few days, Telangana Director General of Police M Mahender Reddy today said that severe action would be initiated against those trying to disturb law and order in the state.

The DGP visited Utnur town in the Adilabad district on Sunday and discussed with the local police the violent incidents in Hasnapur between Adivasis and Lambadas.

Speaking to the media later, Reddy said that his department would not keep quiet if any section tried to take the law into their hands for their selfish ends.

He also warned that stern action would initiated as per the law if anybody tried to disturb social life and the studies of the students.

While talking with the Revenue and ITDA officials, the DGP asked the district police officials to take immediate steps to protect law and order. He also warned the Agency people of severe action if they tried to maintain contacts with Maoists and other extremist factions. The Maoists could try to use the current unrest between Lambadas and Adivasis as an opportunity, he remarked.
