Only BJP Can Develop Telangana: Sushma Swaraj

Union minister and senior BJP leader Sushma Swaraj, who is in Hyderabad to participate in the campaign for the upcoming Telangana Assembly elections, asserted that the development of Telangana would be possible only if the BJP came to power in the state.

Speaking to the media at Madhapur, Swaraj, taking a dig at KCR, said that statehood was accorded to Telangana for the development of the entire region and not for the benefit of the five members of the KCR family. The youth did not get jobs in the state but all the family members of KCR got employment, she said.

She also said that though 2,000 persons, including many youth, had laid down their precious lives for the cause of a separate Telangana state, the TRS had identified only 400 martyrs.

Refuting claims that the BJP and the TRS had forged a secret alliance, she clarified that the BJP had no friendly ties with TRS.

Swaraj also added that the BJP, unlike the TDP, had supported the Telangana movement from the beginning.
