The entry of the ruling TRS' Rajya Sabha member Dharmapuri Srinivas into the Congress has been postponed.
He was scheduled to join the grand old party on the 24th of this month. However, the program has now been postponed due to the prevailing coronavirus pandemic in the country.
It is learnt that DS himself postponed the joining ceremony keeping in view the seriousness of the virus spread.
Congress party sources said that DS was likely to join the party during the upcoming Parliament session.
The political growth of DS took place in the Congress. He also led the party to two successive victories in the 2004 and 2009 Assembly elections as the then PCC president in the undivided Andhra Pradesh.
However, he joined the TRS after the formation of Telangana state, and went on to become a Rajya Sabha MP. However, irreconciliable differences cropped up between CM K Chandrashekar Rao and DS, resulting in the CM keeping the veteran leader on a leash. This prompted DS to return to his old party.
