TPJAC chief Kodandaram on Saturday stated that the Congress party would be wiped out if it resorts to "delaying tactics" on the formation of a Telangana state, in the name of a second States Reorganisation Commission or regional councils.
Talking to media persons after inaugurating a Telangana Mazdoor Union Office at Vidyanagar, Kodandaram said that the TPJAC and the Telangana Rashtra Samithi would not agree to any alternative other than the creation of a separate Telangana.
He said that the Centre must announce a clear decision on Telangana statehood with Hyderabad as the state capital, and stop resorting to delaying tactics.
Kodandaram said that the Congress must pay heavily for delaying the Telangana decision. He said that the people of the region would "bury" the Congress if it announces an decision unfavourable to them. He demanded that the government introduce a bill on Telangana in the winter session of Parliament.
Speaking about the State Road Transport Corporation, he demanded that the management spend the income generated in Telangana for the development and improvement of services in the region. (INN)
