Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president Ponnala Lakshmaiah on Wednesday announced that the Congress party would enter agitation mode against the TRS government from September 12.
Speaking to media persons at his residence, Ponnala said that the Congress had earlier announced that it would begin its agitation against the failures of the TRS government after the completion of 100 days of the new regime.
Therefore, he said that the Party would organise dharnas at all district headquarters starting September 12, except Medak due to the by-elections there.
He said that all senior leaders and workers would participate in the dharnas to be organised across the 9 districts of Telangana.
Ponnala said that the TRS government had failed to perform up to the expectations of the people.
Although the Congress tried to play the role of a constructive opposition party, it would now adopt the agitation route to ensure that the problems being faced by the people get resolved.
He asked the people of the Medak Lok Sabha constituency to question the TRS ministers, MPs and MLAs on the status of the promises made by their Party during the elections.
He alleged that the State government had been confined to a few individuals, and that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao had been ruling like a monarch. (INN)
