BJP, TRS Failed People: Telangana Congress
At the Congress Formation Day celebrations, TPCC President Ponnala Lakshmaiah asked the workers to expose the failures of the Central and State governments.
Hyderabad | 28th December 2014
Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president Ponnala Lakshmaiah alleged that both the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Telangana Rashtra Samithi had disappointed the common people who voted for them in the last elections.
Ponnala announced that the Congress would strive hard to expose the failures of both the BJP-led Central Government and TRS Government in Telangana.
Speaking after hoisting the Party's flag on the occasion of the 130th Congress Formation Day at Gandhi Bhavan on Sunday, he said that the Congress had always served the people, irrespective of whether or not it was in power.
He said that the Congress had accepted the people's verdict given in the last election, and had been playing the role of a constructive Opposition Party.
However, the ruling BJP and TRS had failed to perform up to the expectations of the people, and had misled them, he alleged.
The TPCC chief claimed that it was the then Congress Government which had granted statehood for Telangana. However, the TRS came to power after exploiting the people's sentiments, and now the entire government had been turned into a family affair.
He asked the Party workers to expose the failures of the Central and State governments, and stay in touch with the people to understand their problems.
CLP leaders K Jana Reddy and D Srinivas, APYC President and MLC K Vamshichander, Rajya Sabha MP V Hanumanth Rao, MLA DK Aruna, MLC Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy, TPCC Seva Dal president T Janardhan Reddy and others leaders were also present. (INN)
