Taking a satirical jibe at Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, Telangana Congress leader and former MP Ponnam Prabhakar today wrote to the Telangana Tourism Development Corporation chairman Pervaram Ramulu to declare the Camp Office and the former's farm house as tourist destinations and allow the people to visit them.
The former MP said that the idea of making CM's Camp Office and farm house as tourist attractions were doing rounds in WhatsApp. Criticizing the CM further, he said that there were tourist places such as Orugallu Fort built by the kings of Kakatiya, Golconda Fort by Qutub Shahis and Charminar by the Nizams. And thus KCR's Pragathi Bhavan and farm house, too, deserved viewership, Ponnam said and urged the Tourism Corporation Chairman to include the names of two "destinations".
He claimed that the Chief Minister was of the impression that he was the King of Telangana. People were also had begun to feel that the CM is in fact a Monarch, after witnessing two and half years of rule, he ridiculed and said that a CM would think about the problems of the people but a King only thinks of himself.
A Chief Minister does what is right and with the consent of the people, but a King does what he wanted to, he said and alleged that KCR's policies were that of an autocrat.
"After visiting these tourist spots, the people would tell their grandchildren and great grandchildren tales of the KCR dynasty while visiting the Pragathi Bhavan and farm house. At least this way the treasury can recover the money the King spent on his personal palace," he mocked.
