TPCC working president Ponnam Prabhkar today slammed Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for not allocating funds to Karimnagar district in the
state Budget for 2021-22, that was unveiled by Finance Minister T Harish Rao.
Reminding the CM of his promise of turning the district into the next London, he said, "It is unfortunate that our CM, who had promised to turn Karimnagar into another London, has not allocated the funds required to do so in the annual budget presented in the Assembly today."
The TPCC big shot even alleged that the CM had allotted money to the Khammam and Warangal municipal corporations, and not to Karimnagar, as he wanted to secure electoral advantages for the ruling party ahead of the upcoming local body elections in the two districts.
"The TRS regime has not allocated funds to Karimnagar as there are no upcoming elections it needs to prepare for in the district. That is why it has neglected to fund key projects like the Manair River Front works and the Brindavan garden project. The CM should know that the people of Karimnagar are extremely unhappy with the annual budget," he said.
While the government has not allocated funds to the Manair River Front project, touted to be at par with Gujarat's Sabarmati River Front project, speculations about a hefty allotment to the same had caused the prices of real estate in the area to appreciate steadily over the past year.
