Congress Slams KCR For Talk Of Selling City

The Congress lashed out at the Telangana CM for saying that he would sell land in the capital to raise money for the Palamuru-Rangareddy lift irrigation project.
Hyderabad | 30th August 2019
Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) spokesperson G Niranjan on Friday lashed out at Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for saying that he would sell land in the State capital to raise money for the construction of the Palamuru-Rangareddy lift irrigation project.

He asked KCR if Hyderabad was his own kingdom.

Speaking to mediapersons today, Niranjan said that though there was a proposal to make Hyderabad a Union Territory, the Congress had shelved the move as Hyderabad contributed 45% of the income of the entire State. But KCR was now planning to undo the Congress' work by letting go of rights to Hyderabad indirectly, he claimed.

He also alleged that the CM was trying to erase the history of Hyderabad by demolishing all the historic monuments, and asked him about his (KCR's) statement of making Hyderabad another Istanbul.

He demanded that the Chief Minister complete the lift irrigation project by mobilizing funds from other resources.
