Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee chief spokesperson Dr. Shravan Kumar demanded that the BJP's Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi tender an unconditional apology for his remarks against Hyderabad.
Addressing a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan here on Wednesday, Kumar condemned the remarks of Modi wherein the latter stated that people from other parts of the country would have required a visa to visit Hyderabad if Sardar Patel had not taken appropriate action in 1948.
Describing it as a hate speech, Kumar alleged that Modi was hurting the communal harmony and peace in Telangana.
He demanded that Modi withdraw his remarks and tender an apology for making such controversial remarks.
Kumar also ridiculed Modi's claims on fighting corruption. Referring to TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu as "corruption king", Kumar alleged that Modi was speaking about ending corruption by sharing the dais with someone like Naidu. He alleged that Naidu looted the resources and assets of Telangana, and shifted them to Singapore, Dubai and other countries.
The Congress leader also alleged that Naidu backstabbed his own father-in-law N T Rama Rao to become the Chief Minister, and then backstabbed the people of Telangana to stay in power.
He said that Modi himself worked as an agent of corporates, and accused Modi of trying to encash upon the popularity of film stars like Pawan Kalyan who lacked basic sense about politics.
Shravan Kumar also slammed TRS President K Chandrasekhar Rao, and accused him of being an agent of the communal forces in the country.
He said that KCR did not give any prominent post to any Muslim within his own party, although he was trying to portray himself as a friend of the Muslim community. (INN)
