The Telangana Congress Legislature Party on Monday sought the disqualification of 8 rebels MLCs who recently joined the Telangana Rashtra Samithi.
In a memorandum submitted to Legislative Council Chairman K Swamy Goud in his chambers, Leader of the Opposition in the Council D Srinivas and Deputy Leader Mohammed Ali Shabbir demanded that the Chairman disqualify the rebel MLCs for switching loyalties.
The MLCs whose disqualification has been sought are Bhanu Prasad, K R Amos, Yadav Reddy, Jagadeshwara Reddy, Rajeshwar Rao, Bhupal Reddy, Rajalingam and Nethi Vidyasagar.
Speaking to media persons later, Srinivas alleged that the election of the Council Chairman was conducted in an unethical manner.
He said that the TRS government was encouraging defections, and it was responsible for the recent revolt in the Congress party. (INN)
