Stating that Nalgonda MLA and Congress leader Komatireddy Venkat Reddy had violated the party discipline with
his outbursts on the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President N Uttam Kumar Reddy, TPCC vice-president Mallu Ravi said that it was the second time that Venkat Reddy had done so, making it increasing untenable to look the other way.
Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan on Saturday along with T Jagga Reddy and D Sravan, Ravi said that Komatireddy's statement sounded like one given by a TRS leader.
It was not fair on the part of Komatireddy to say that Uttam Kumar Reddy's survey was bogus. Uttam Kumar Reddy had conducted a survey in the State to know the real condition of the Congress, Ravi said, and Komatireddy's statement would lower the confidence of the cadre.
He said that the TPCC would lodge a complaint with the Party High Command against Komatireddy.
Former whip T Jagga Reddy alleged that the Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao was hatching a conspiracy to divide the Congress. The Chief Minister was insecure about the growing strength of the Congress, and was behind the Komatireddy's statement, he claimed. The statement was a clear violation of party discipline, and there was a need to initiate action against Komatireddy, he, too, opined.
PCC general secretary D Sravan said that Komatireddy had spoken against the interests of the party. It was atrocious that Komatireddy, who had enjoyed several positions thanks to the Congress, was speaking like that today against the party, when it was facing difficult conditions. It was not correct for Komatireddy to try to dominate the party, he said, and added that Komatireddy's statements would harm the confidence of the party activists. He, too, said that the statement was a gross violation of discipline, and that there was a need to initiate action against Komatireddy.
It may be recalled that Komatireddy alleged on Friday at Nakrekal in Nalgonda district that the survey of TPCC chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy was fake.
