The Congress today continued its "Vari Deeksha" in support of paddy procurement from the farmers of the state, for the second day at Indira Park in the city.
The TJS too announced its support to the protest.
Speaking on the occasion, TPCC president A Revanth Reddy praised 93-year-old Ram Reddy for writing a great song on the problems of the farmers of the state.
Revanth Reddy bowed at the feet of Ram Reddy on the occasion.
Congress MP Komatireddy Venkat Reddy also hugged Ram Reddy.
TPCC Vice President Mallu Ravi said that the party would publish the song and distribute it among the people of the state.
Speaking later on the central issue of the protest, Revanth Reddy said that the farmers of the state were losing their lives due to not being able to sell their paddy crop.
He claimed that CM K Chandrashekar Rao was responsible for the suicides of the farmers of the state, and that the suicides were nothing but murders committed by the CM.
Left leader Gummadi Narsaiah alleged that CM K Chandrashekar Rao was ignoring the problems of the farmers of the state.
He asked KCR if the state government didn't have the responsibility to procure the paddy, and demanded that it procure the entire quantity of paddy from the farmers of the state.
He added that the farmers were ready to teach a lesson to the CM if he deserted them citing technicalities.
Congress leader and MLA Seethakka pointed out that KCR had not extended his support to the agitation of the farmers of North India against the three controversial farm laws, even after staying in Delhi for ten days for laying the foundation stone for the construction of the TRS party office there, and that that showed how indifferent he was to the farmer community in general.
