T-Congress Plans Struggle Over Land Acquisition
The Congress alleged that the TRS was hatching a conspiracy to purchase lands in the guise of GO No 123 meant for land acquisition for irrigation projects.
The Telangana Congress alleged that the TRS government was hatching a conspiracy to purchase lands in the guise of GO. No. 123 meant for land acquisition for irrigation projects, and said that the Congress was getting ready to wage war against the government on behalf of the farmers.
The TPCC organized a meeting with its executive members at Gandhi Bhavan on Sunday under the leadership of TPCC chief Uttam Kumar Reddy. TPCC working president Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, TPCC vice-presidents, general secretaries and DCC presidents participated in the meeting.
Speaking to the media with Party leaders Bollu Kishan, Niranjan and Azmathullah Hussaini after the three-hour long meeting, TPCC vice-president Mallu Ravi said that the Party was contemplating meeting the Kollapur farmers in the Mahabubnagar district as part of its efforts.
He said that the State government was taking up a land acquisition program keeping the existing Act aside and brought in the new G. O. 123 only for land purchase. The TPCC had therefore decided to wage war against the GO on behalf of the farmers, he said.
The State government was also deceiving the farmers over the promised loan waiver, he alleged. The government had also failed to provide seeds and fertilizers though the Kharif season had started, he added, and said that the Congress would mount pressure on the government to do justice to the farmers.
