Assuming that Congress party's constant dithering over granting statehood to Telangana could only mean a death knell to their political aspirations, at least 4 Congress MPs from the Telangana are rumoured to be ready to don the "pink cape". The 4 MPs reportedly leaning towards TRS are said to be Warangal MP Rajaiah, Peddapalli MP Vivek, Nagarkurnool MP Manda Jagannadham, and Nalgonda MP Gutta Sukhendar Reddy.
Over the last few weeks, even TRS president K Chandrashekhar Rao has been vocal about 4-5 MPs he expects are joining the party. Of these 4, the shift of Rajaiah, Vivek, and Manda Jagannadham to TRS is said to be a done deal, while Gutta Sukhendar is apparently not so sure. The reason for this, say sources, is that a new party called (no prizes for guessing) Telangana Congress might be in the making, under the leadership of Union Minister jaipal Reddy.
Adding credence to these rumours is the unusually acerbic tone these MPs have been taking towards AICC prez Sonia Gandhi, pulling her up for the inconclusiveness of the Telangana issue.
Meanwhile, TRS, who's reportedly rolled out the Pink Carpet for Rajaiah, Vivek, Manda and Gutta; has also rumouredly shut his door in the face of MPs Madhu Yashki and Ponnam Prabhakar.
