From Digvijay Singh to Jaipal Reddy, Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and Shabbir Ali, a full spectrum of Telangana Congress leaders engaged in slamming KCR today.
Alleging that the KCR government had prepared an action plan for amassing a huge loot in the name of Bangaru Telangana, Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) working president Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka today said that the State government was awarding contracts for money and announcing schemes for votes.
The TPCC today organized a "Thanks to Sonia Gandhi Day" program on the occasion of the Telangana Formation Day, at Gandhi Bhavan. After hoisting the national flag, Vikramarka said that there were no funds to construct the double bedroom houses, distribute land to dalits, or the KG-to-PG free education scheme, schemes ballyhooed by KCR, he pointed out. The State government had failed to spend a single rupee on these schemes, and had also not implemented its 12% reservation for Muslims and tribals promise, he said.
He claimed that the TRS government came to power two years ago but had still not completed the irrigation projects, which were already constructed to the extent of 95% during the previous Congress rule.
Referring to the government inviting tenders for Rs. 2.5 lakh crores in the name of project re-design, Mission Bhagiratha and Mission Kakatiya, he alleged, "These tenders are only to loot Rs. 1 lakh crores from the Rs. 2.5 lakh crores."
He asked the media to play the Opposition's role in the State, and said that otherwise dark days would shroud the State. He assured the media managements not to be afraid of the TRS government, and promised that the Congress would stand by them.
Former Union Minister Jaipal Reddy said that the credit for achieving Telangana would not go to KCR. KCR did a fake fast at NIMS, he alleged. He also said that KCR had a secret pact with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and was hence praising the latter. KCR was a good businessman, and praised someone only when he had work with that person, Reddy alleged.
Former Union Minister Sarve Satyanarayana said that KCR had done nothing in the last two years, and the creation of a separate Telangana was possible only due to Sonia Gandhi. He alleged that KCR had become a "Sani" for Telangana.
Opposition leader in the Telangana Legislative Council Mohammed Ali Shabbir Ali has said that KCR was ruling the State like a dictator. Most of the Cabinet ministers were Telangana betrayers, he alleged.
CLP leader K Jana Reddy, former PCC Chiefs Ponnala Lakshmaiah and P Narsa Reddy, former minister Marri Shashidhar Reddy, former union minister Balaram Naik, Party MLAs and MLCs, and several other leaders participated in the program.
Later, a Hyderabad District Congress meeting was held in Gandhi Bhavan. Hyderabad Congress in-charges Balaram Naik and Kumar Rao, Hyderabad Congress leaders Marri Shashidhar Reddy and Anjan Kumar Yadav, constituency level leaders and activists participated in the meeting and discussed the steps to be taken to strengthen the party at the division level.
Earlier, AICC general secretary and Telangana Congress party affairs in-charge Digvijay Singh lashed out at KCR alleging that the latter had given hundreds of crores of rupees in advertisements to newspapers on the occasion of the Telangana Formation Day celebrations while the poor were dying.
Reacting to KCR's celebrations in a tweet, Singh said that only KCR's family had benefited in the last two years. Farmers were committing suicides, people were dying due to sunstrokes and unemployment in the state was increasing, but KCR was celebrating Telangana Formation Day quite like King Nero, he claimed.
Singh, too, thanked AICC chief Sonia Gandhi for fulfilling the long-time aspiration of the people of Telangana for a separate State.
