On April 16, the Justice B N Srikrishna Committee will hear a delegation from the Telangana Rashtriya Samiti in Hyderabad, as it begins its consultations for the issue of separate statehood for Telangana. It will also hold wide-ranging discussions with CPI, CPI(M), Praja Rajyam, Indian Union Muslim League and some leaders from the TDP, on April 22 and 23.
The committee held its 5th meeting in New Delhi on Thursday, and ruled out an extension of the April 10 deadline for political parties and other organisations for submitting their representations. However, member-secretary Vinod K Duggal expressed that representations submitted after the deadline due to some unavoidable circumstances will be accepted.
He also said that apart from some analysis work being carried out, some of the committee members will visit parts of Andhra Pradesh to interact with the locals and find out their opinion on the statehood issue.
