The much-awaited Srikrishna Committee Report has been tabled as scheduled with 6 recommendations kept open to the central government, but it favoured a united Andhra Pradesh.
Even as Union Home Minister P Chidambaram made the 6 options public, the issue evoked a mixed reaction among political parties including the ruling Congress.
Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) President K Chandrasekhar Rao point blank demanded nothing short of a bill on Telangana in Parliament.
There were divergent views expressed in the Congress camp as some leaders like V Hanumanth Rao (from Telangana) chose to side with separatists, and others like K S Rao, D Purandeshwari (from Andhra) chose to abide by the decision of the central government.
Congress leaders seem to have retained their regional tilt even now.
