As reported
earlier, a Telangana Cabinet reshuffle is on the cards, according to informed sources.
According to the grapevine, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao is keen on reshuffling his Cabinet as some of his colleagues are not up to his expectations.
Repeated meetings of KCR with Governor E S L Narasimhan have given strength to the speculations.
The Chief Minister is said to be eager to make some sweeping changes to the Cabinet by stripping portfolios from ministers who help two or more of them, and also removing some ministers.
Those who may be shown the door include Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy and Tribal Welfare Minister Chandulal. Since they are reportedly reluctant to remain in the Cabinet owing to poor health, KCR is keen on shifting them to party activities and use their services to strengthen it in the districts.
Though a close aide of KCR for long, city-based legislator Padma Rao Goud, who invited public wrath on the cheap liquor issue, may also be asked to quit, it is said.
The new faces that may make it to the Cabinet include Koppula Eshwar, who is holding the whip post now.
It is also said that Padma Devender Reddy, who is unhappy with her Deputy Speaker post, is a likely entry.
Another woman legislator, and ST leader, K Lakshmi is also likely to find a berth.
To ensure adequate representation for each community and region, KCR is being cautious with the rejig, it is said.
Thus, though former minister Konda Surekha enjoys clout in Warangal which is also TDP's Errabelli Dayakar Rao's bastion, it is unlikely that she will get a berth, it is learnt.
