After much media speculation and haranguing by the Opposition, the Telangana cabinet expansion is finally expected to take place in about a week - a full two months after the elections, which happened on December 7, 2018.
It is being said that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, known for his strong astrological beliefs, is looking for an auspicious day. He has just concluded a visit to the Yadadri temple, on Sunday, and the media buzz is that the cabinet expansion may take place on February 7 or 10.
Indeed, there is high pressure on KCR now. The leaders in his own TRS are annoyed at the inordinate delay of appointing ministers, and the opposition parties are now calling the Chief Minister not expanding the cabinet, anti-Constitutional.
Adding to that is the visit of the 15th Finance Commission to the state on February 18 for making financial recommendations to the Centre for the state - it might not help KCR to not have any cabinet by then.
