Telangana BJP leaders were today kept under house arrests by the police to prevent them from attending their proposed protest programs demanding that the state government waive off the supernormal electricity charges.
The police kept BJP MP Arvind, MLA Raja Singh and MLC N Ramachander Rao under house arrests in Hyderabad.
A huge police force was also deployed at the state headquarters of the party.
The police also arrested BJP leaders including former MP G Vivek and Warangal district party president Rao Padma in Warangal after their sit-in program in front of the headquarters of the TSNPDCL.
These leaders were taken to a local police station after their arrest.
The BJP leaders expressed anger over the decision to keep them under the house arrests. They made it clear that their agitation would go on till the electricity charges were waived off.
