Assembly Speaker S Madhusudhana Chary disallowed three adjournments motions moved by the Opposition Parties demanding a discussion on the farmers' suicides and the energy crisis in the State.
As soon as the House met on Friday, Congress, TDP and BJP members moved separate adjournment motions on the issue. However, the Speaker started the Question Hour, amid protests by TDP members demanding the sacking of Agriculture Minister Pocharam Srinivas Reddy for his alleged remarks questioning the authenticity of the farmers' suicide.
The House was adjourned twice for brief periods before the suspension of 10 TDP MLAs for creating an uproar.
After their suspension and later eviction from the House by marshals, the House was adjourned for 15 minutes after Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, Leader of the Opposition K Jana Reddy and others spoke on the issue.
After the House re-assembled, MIM floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi pointed out that the Speaker had neither allowed nor disallowed the adjournment motions moved by the Opposition Parties. Reacting to this, Madhusudhana Chary immediately announced that he was disallowing the adjournment motions. (INN)
