Assembly Elections Likely In 2018: Thummala
In the background of furious speculation of early polls in the state, Telangana Roads and Buildings Minister Thummala Nageswara Rao hinted that elections might be held in 2018 itself.
In the background of furious speculation of early polls in the state, Telangana Roads and Buildings Minister Thummala Nageswara Rao hinted that elections might be held in 2018 itself.
Talking to a news channel, Thummala, who is a senior leader of the TRS, tried to clear the confusion around the elections being advanced by a few months.
"To my knowledge, the Assembly elections will be held in 2018-end," Thummala said.
With this it appears even more likely that TRS supremo and Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao will go in for early polls in November or December.
The comments gain significance given IT Minister K T Rama Rao said that KCR was still inconclusive on early polls.
Thummala also said that the Cabinet meeting at 1 pm on September 2 would discuss the issues to be disclosed to the people at the Pragathi Nivedana Sabha in the evening by KCR.
