Telangana Asks Centre To Fund Rural Roads

Chief Minister KCR requested the Centre to sanction Rs. 300 crores for Telangana to provide road connectivity between Adilabad and Karimnagar.
Hyderabad | 22nd September 2016
Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao today requested the Centre to sanction Rs. 300 crores for Telangana to provide road connectivity for the people living in and around the areas adjoining the Godavari and Pranahitha rivers near Adilabad and Karimnagar.

During his meeting with Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh in New Delhi, apart from talking about the issues in the memorandum he submitted to Union Labour Minister Bandaru Dattatreya earlier, the CM also requested the Home Minister to release funds for the road works through the Rural Road Plan (RRP) scheme.

Thanking Singh for approving Rs. 1,290 crores for the construction of a national highway along the Godavari and Pranahitha rivers to connect the Khammam, Warangal, Karimnagar and Adilabad districts to one another, he asked the Union Minister to release the road funds, too.

The road works worth Rs. 300 crores will connect Kaleshwaram to Arjun Gutta, Racharla to Vemanapally, Somini to Gudem, Gudem to Babasagar and Sarapam to Kautala.
