Telangana & Andhra Pradesh Governor E S L Narasimhan today expressed his grief over the demise of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayaram Jayalalithaa and conveyed his condolences to Tamil Nadu and its people.
In his message to them the Governor stated, "I am deeply saddened to learn about the demise of Jayalalithaa, and convey my profound grief and heartfelt condolences to Tamil Nadu and its people. She was a great visionary and an able administrator, and distinguished herself in multifarious fields. She was loved and admired by millions in the State and her death has indeed created a void in the nation, particularly in Tamil Nadu. My condolences to the government and the people of Tamil Nadu. May she rest in peace."
Apart from the Governor, the Andhra Pradesh government, too, expressed its grief and observed a two-minute silence at 12 noon, after which they paid tributes to her.
Expressing his grief, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said, "In deep anguish over the demise of Tamil Nadu CM Jayalalithaa, a long-time friend and a leader with an indomitable spirit that was loved by all, I convey my deepest condolences to her Party leaders and the people of the State. She will remain in our memories as a leader who truly cared for the poor."
Other parties including the CPI (Telangana) also paid their respects to the late CM.
Telangana State Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao's emissaries - Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao and Home Minister Nayini Narsimha Reddy - visited Rajaji Hall at Chennai and paid floral tributes to the TN CM.
The two Ministers representing Telangana flew to Chennai and placed wreaths at Jayalalithaa's coffin.
