Telangana Agitation: Trains Cancelled

TRS activists have stopped the Rajdhani Express, Satavahana Express, Gorakhpur Express in Kazipet as part of their rail roko. Trains have also been delayed prior to arriving at Kazipet.

Meanwhile, in the wake of the rail roko and rasta roko calls made by the Telangana JAC, the South Central Railway has cancelled 88 trains for the day – 39 passenger trains and 49 MMTS.
49 MMTS services between Secunderabad and Falaknuma, 6 local trains between Secunderabad and Umdanagar, 10 between Falaknuma and Umdanagar, and 2 services between Falaknuma and Bollarum are among the passenger trains that have been cancelled.

The Telangana JAC had called for region-wide agitations to pressurize the Centre to bifurcate the state. Today in Delhi, there is an all-party meet in which the Congress, TDP, PRP, CPI, CPM, MIM, TRS and BJP are sending their representatives to the Centre to discuss the Telangana issue. The Home Ministry finds itself between a rock and a hard place today, as a decision in favour of either side of the Telangana issue will see the state erupt into violence.
