Apologize To Dr. Naik: TSJAC

Telangana activists protest show-cause notice to Dr.Naik, and damage the Singareni Collieries office.
Hyderabad | 13th September 2010
Telangana Students Joint Action Committee (TSJAC) activists, supported by Telangana Rashtra Samithi and Bharatiya Janata Party members, forced staff of the Singareni Collieries district head office to flee on Monday, by breaking window panes of the office building.

The protestors were demanding that the show-cause notice issued to Telangana Employees Joint Action Committee co-convenor Dr. Shankar Naik, who is also the surgeon of the Singareni Main Hospital, be withdrawn.

The protestors alleged that the show-cause notice was issued to Dr. Shankar Naik at the instance of higher officials of the Singareni Collieries since he had spoken against their 'corrupt practices'.

The protestors further said that Naik was targeted since he was an avowed Telangana protagonist. They also demanded that officials from Seemandhra regions tender an unconditional apology to Naik, and that action be taken against all the officials accused him of corruption.

The TSJAC had, at first, picketed the Singareni Project Officer's office, and tried to make their way inside. The staff, anticipating the consequences, had locked the door and thwarted this move.

Angry at not being able to get inside, the activists broke the window panes all around the building, and forced the staff to flee the place. Then, they marched off to the National Highway and staged a 'rasta roko', disrupting traffic.

The police arrived at the scene and dispersed the protestors. Security in the area was strengthened to ward off further protests.

After AP state split, biggest loosers are BCs from telangana region. Telangana got 70% BC castes. now they are enjoying BC reservation in united AP. after split, supreme court is going to restrict reservation to 50% in telangana and seemandhra states. advantage to andhra , seema region BCs and disadvantage to Telangana BCs.
