While the Hyderabad High Court granted conditional bail to Telugu Desam Party leader Revanth Reddy after he spent a month in jail in the note-for-vote scam, ACB officials are not willing to let go of him.
In a new twist on Tuesday, ACB officials made it clear that they were getting ready to move the Supreme Court against Revanth Reddy's bail.
While family members and Telugu Desam Party activists celebrated the occasion by distributing sweets and bursting crackers, the ACB declared that it would move the apex court in a couple of days after reviewing a copy of the High COurt's verdict.
The ACB argued against the bail in the High Court by saying that they were yet to interrogate the fourth accused Mathaiah and others like TD MLA S Venkata Veeraiah, who was to face interrogation on Monday but had still not turned up, but it was in vain.
Along with Revanth Reddy, Sebastian and Uday Simha also got conditional bail.
On the other hand, a section of the media was abuzz with speculation that Revanth Reddy, now tainted, would resign from his MLA post and the party membership, or that Telugu Desam Party supremo and AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu would sack him any time.
Revanth Reddy's wife Geetha however ruled out the possibility of his being sacked or his resignation. He would continue to be in politics despite any number of such cases, she asserted. (NSS)
