Rs 1 Crore For Pashamylaram Blast Deceased: CM

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy today announced Rs 1 crore ex-gratia to the family of each of the persons who died in the ghastly fire accident at the Sigachi Industries plant in the Pashamylaram industrial area of Sangareddy district.
A sum of Rs 10 lakh will be given to each of the seriously injured, and Rs 5 lakh to each of those with less severe injuries.
As immediate assistance, Rs 1 lakh will be given to each of the bereaved families, and Rs 50,000 to each injured person.
The CM along with ministers Sridhar Babu, Damodar Rajanarasimha, Vivek Venkataswamy and Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, visited the site and reviewed the rescue operations.
Officials briefed the Chief Minister that 36 people had died in the incident. Of the 143 people involved, 58 have been identified so far. Search operations are ongoing to trace the missing, and efforts were underway to hand over the mortal remains to the bereaved.
Speaking with the media, the CM said that the government was committed to supporting affected families. He said that immediate financial relief would be given first, followed by the full ex-gratia amounts, and that the government would bear the medical expenses of the injured and ensure that children of the deceased were admitted to government residential schools.
The CM said that neither Telangana nor Andhra Pradesh had ever witnessed such a major industrial fire, and directed officials to identify those responsible and take stringent action. "We will identify and take action against those responsible," he said.
He also instructed officials to inspect all chemical factories in the State for safety lapses and submit reports on the precautionary measures being implemented.
Reddy added that a transparent policy would be brought in to prevent such incidents, and that regular safety inspections would be made mandatory.
Later, the Chief Minister visited the injured at a hospital in Patancheru and consoled them.
