Roads & Buildings Minister Thummala Nageswara Rao claimed that the Bhakta Ramadas Lift Irrigation Project was completed in record time due to persistent efforts made by the Telangana government and its Chief Minister.
During the trial-run of the project at his home district Khammam on Tuesday, the Minister credited CM K Chandrashekar Rao with the completion of the irrigation project.
He also said that Minister T Harish Rao, Ministry officials, and all other workers apprised the CM on minute-by-minute details of the project which made it possible.
Nageswara Rao ridiculed the Opposition for allegedly hindering the project, and said that its completion was a silent yet befitting response.
The Chief Minister will soon launch the project for the farmers, he said.
As per reports, the State government pumped in Rs. 392 crores for the project aimed at irrigating 60,000 acres of land in drought-prone areas of the district. According to sources, KCR will formally launch the Bhakta Ramadas lift irrigation project on February 16.
