A team of the Telangana TDP leaders today visited the Mid-Manair dam which had suffered a severe breach following heavy rains in the State.
The TDP delegation also inspected the crops that were damaged in the flood waters.
Speaking to the media later, Telangana TDP working president A Revanth Reddy blamed the TRS for the breach, and held ministers Harish Rao and Thummala Nageswara Rao responsible for the breach, as the contract was given to an "unqualified" person related to Nageswara Rao.
Reddy alleged that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao had ignored the victims of the Mid-Manair floods and demanded Rs. 20 lakhs for the families of each of the victims as compensation, and Rs. 50,000 for the farmers who lost their crops to the floods.
He also asked the State government to pay compensation and provide houses to the villagers of the submerged Munwada village near the dam.
The TDP leader said that the Party would raise the Mid-Manair issue in the next Telangana Assembly session.
