Technical problems at the Narla Tatarao Thermal Power station led to the power generation in the 3rd and 5th unit being affected on Thursday.
NTTP sources said that the power generation was affected after some technical glitches forced authorities to halt operations in the two units.
An estimated 420 MW of power generation was affected.
Sources say that officials are making efforts to resolve the technical snags and restore power.
The snags come on the back of similar problems earlier this month, which had forced the officials to halt power generation in Units 1, 2, 4, 6 and 7.
The issues had led to the loss of around 1330 MW of power. The 5 units resumed generation after the government deputed an expert officials' team from the Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited to rectify the technical problem.
