N Tulasi Reddy, PCC Spokesperson and the PM's 20-Point Programme chairman on Sunday accused opposition parties of politicising the death of senior TDP leader K Yerran Naidu.
Talking to reporters at the state Secretariat, Tulasi Reddy said that after hisn tragic road accident, the former union minister was not shifted to the hospital in a 108 ambulance, which he said was run by National Highway Authorities of India. He said that it was wrong on the part of leaders of the Telugu Desam Party and YSR Congress party to blame the state government for Yerran Naidu's death. He accused them of trying to gain political mileage out of a tragedy.
Tulasi Reddy said 108 ambulances have all facilities, including oxygen cylinders, required to deal with emergency cases. He said the 108 service was launched in 2005 with 30 vehicles by the then Chief Minister Dr. Y S Rajasekhara Reddy. He said that over the years, the service has improved, and that as many as 808 vehicles attend an average of 2,800 calls on a daily basis. He said that they had helped in saving thousands of lives across the state.
The PCC spokesperson advised opposition parties not to politicise Yerran Naidu's death by indulging in "wrong propaganda" against the state government. (INN)
