Telangana Telugu Desam Party President L Ramana today said that the party was focusing on strengthening itself, and that there was no need for haste in having alliances with other parties at this time.
He said that the TDP was formed for the cause of the poor, farmers, workers and deprived classes, and would focus on their welfare, and would concern itself with victories and defeats only during the elections. As of now there was no plan of any alliances, and those issues would come into play only only during the elections, he clarified.
TDP supremo and Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu had stated that they would take a decision on alliances only before the elections during Mahanadu. Keeping this in view the party leaders and workers should not talk on the issue, and should focus on strengthening the party, and to fight for the people and address their problems, he said. Party issues should be debated only in party meetings and not in the public, he cautioned.
The comments assume significance since a disgreement over a possible alliance with the TRS is most likely to result in Working President Revanth Reddy leaving the party.
