TDP Warns Of Stir Against Cheap Liquor
The Telangana TDP warned that if the government did not withdraw its cheap liquor policy, women would agitate at all the district Collector offices on Oct 2.
Telangana TDP Mahila president Bandaru Shobharani today warned that if the TRS government failed to withdraw its cheap liquor policy, women would stage demonstrations in front of all the district Collector offices in the state on October 2.
Speaking to the media at NTR Trust Bhavan, Shobharani said that KCR was adamant on introducing cheap liquor from October 1, even though the entire womenfolk in the state were expressing their resentment against the policy.
The people of Telangana had never thought that another agitation would need to be started in just 14 months of the TRS rule, she said.
She asked which doctor said that if people consumed cheap liquor, their health would not be affected.
Alcohol was always injurious to health, and it was not proper to introduce cheap liquor in the name of curbing gudumba consumption, she said.
