The TDP Telangana group has approved of Telangana Congress leaders'
announcement of their decision to step down from their offices on 4 July in support of a separate Telangana.
Telangana Telugu Desam Party (TDP) Forum Chairman Errabelli Dayakar Rao said, on Friday, that Telangana leaders from the TDP would follow suit, as soon as their counterparts in the Congress party put in their papers (thereby subtly sarcastically hinting at the possibility that the latter might backtrack on their golden promise).
He added that this was a welcome step by the Congress leaders. He said only political instability can bring about a separate Telangana state, and added that it is only resignations from the ruling party that can cause political uncertainty.
When a scribe asked him about whether the TDP's resignations would be in a format acceptable to the Speaker (referring to earlier disasters of politicians having clearly
staged resignations by submitting papers in formats not officially accepted), Errabelli retorted that his party would not stage a drama.
He said they would resign properly, and that the people of the state would not forgive dramas.
