The Telugu Desam Party, on Friday, suspended four MLAs from the party for defying the party's dictat of staying away from the presidential elections.
The party suspended Nuzividu MLA Chinnam Rama Kotaiah, Mudhol MLA Venu Gopalachary, Parigi MLA Harishwar Reddy and Mantralayam MLA Y Balanagi Reddy, for participating in the presidential polls by going against the party's decision to abstain from the election.
According to sources, the decision was taken to convey a strong message that anti-party activities would not be tolerated.
It may be mentioned that 5 MLAs, including Gudivada MLA Kodali Nani, had participated in the presidential voting. The party has already suspended Kodali Nani from the party for switching loyalties to the YSR Congress Party. (INN)
