Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu on Friday asserted that it was the TDP government in the undivided AP that had protected communal harmony and maintained the law and order.
Speaking on the resolution on the law and order situation in Andhra Pradesh at the party's Mahanadu on the third day at Gandipet, Naidu said that the credit for maintaining communal harmony in Hyderabad went only to the TDP government during its tenure.
Criticising the Congress rule in the state, the TDP supremo said that the then Congress government had failed utterly to maintain the law and order during its 10-year rule.
During late YSR's regime, the TDP had lost a prominent leader like Paritala Ravi, Naidu said.
He also alleged that the red sandal smugglers had a nexus with YSR Congress leaders.
The AP Chief Minister warned that stern action would be initiated if anybody tried to violate the law and order in AP, as peace was the main instrument of development in any state.
Work was going on feverishly on the Godavari pushkaram celebrations in Andhra Pradesh, he said, adding that out of 268 pushkar ghats, work had been completed at 248 ghats.
He appealed to the people of both the Telugu states to celebrate the Godavari puskarams enthusiastically. (NSS)
