Condemning the remarks of senior Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader Gali Muddukrishnama Naidu that N Chandrababu Naidu had been offered the Prime Minister's post in 1996 itself, Congress MLC Rudraraju Padmaraju on Tuesday stated that the TDP president did not possess any capability to run the administration in the Centre.
Talking to media persons at the CLP office, Padmaraju said that the TDP had no political base in the State and its candidates had lost deposits in many constituencies in the recent Assembly by-elections.
Muddukrishnama Naidu had reportedly said that his party's leader had been offered the Prime Minister's post way back in 1996 itself. However, he refused the post in order to focus on Andhra Pradesh first, according to Muddukrishnama Naidu.
The Congress MLC stated that the TDP chief is wily and knows that he has no scope in the state and that was the reason he was focussing his attention on national politics. Rudraraju added that Naidu was incapable to run the affairs of the country and he had demonstrated his inefficiency by failing 'totally' to run the state administration.
The MLC said, "During TDP's 9-year rule, corruption was rampant in the state. The farmers have committed suicide due to TDP anti-farmer policies."
