Alleging that the Congress is treating Telangana as an internal party matter, TDP senior leader Gali Muddukrishnamma Naidu said that the ruling party has no right to divide Andhra Pradesh.
Talking to reporters in Vijayawada, Naidu said that the Telangana issue was blown out of proportion by the Congress, and that by having a tie-up with the Telangana Rashtra Samithi in the 2004 elections, the Congress had strengthened the sentiments of separatism to gain political mileage in future.
He said that the Congress Working Committee took a decision in favour of Telangana only to gain political mileage.
The TDP leader also accused the YSR Congress party of enacting political dramas in the Seemandhra region by supporting Samaikyandhra. He said that both Vijayamma and Sharmila had supported a separate Telangana during their meetings in the Telangana region, and that now they are advocating Samaikyandhra for political gains.
He predicted that the YSRCP and TRS will eventually merge with the Congress, which he said has been making efforts to emerge as the ultimate beneficiary of the Telangana issue. (INN)
