Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, on Wednesday, said that the outcome of the election results in the 5 states would not have any impact on Andhra Prades, where by-elections are being held for 7 assembly segments including the Telangana region.
Talking to media persons, the Chief Minister said that success and defeat of parties depend on various issues and factors prevailing in those states.
"The Congress has seen many such circumstances, and will not lose confidence. The defeat is a stepping stone for victory in the next elections," he said.
Stating that victory and defeat were common in a democracy, the Chief Minister rubbished the statement of Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu, that the latter's "cycle" (the TDP's election symbol) would repeat the Samajwadi Party's performance in UP, in the AP elections.
Stating that "Naidu's cycle" was rusted, the Chief Minister said that the voters of state would teach Naidu a fitting lesson in the next elections.
The CM also said that the High Command would finalise the aspirants' list soon. He said that the Telangana issue was nothing to do with the by-elections in Telangana region.
Stating that the Congress would go to the election campaign with development works and welfare schemes, the Chief Minister expressed confidence that the party would win in three to four constituencies in the by-elections.
He said that the party would learn lessons from these elections and prepare a strategy for the 2014 elections.
Kiran Kumar said that the PCC would be nominate in-charges for 17 Assembly segments that are going to the polls. (INN)
