Talasani Still Not Part Of TRS Legislature Party
Talasani Srinivas Yadav, inducted into the Telangana cabinet more than three months ago, is still being counted as an MLA of the TDP.
Hyderabad | 26th March 2015
Talasani Srinivas Yadav, who was inducted into the Telangana cabinet as the commercial taxes minister more than three months ago, is still being counted as an MLA of the Telugu Desam Party.
Although Talasani had claimed an hour before taking oath as minister on December 16, 2014, that he had resigned from the post of the Sanathnagar MLA and from the TDP's primary membership, the party position in the Telangana Legislative Council, announced by Speaker S Madhusudhana Chary, clearly shows Talasani as still a member of the TDP.
Similarly, six other MLAs who had quit their parent parties and officially joined the Telangana Rashtra Samithi long ago are being counted as members of their parent parties.
The Telangana Congress removed the names of four MLAs - Vithal Reddy, S Redya Naik, Kanakaiah and K Yadaiah - from its official website after they defected to the TRS. It even lodged a complaint seeking their disqualification. But in the Assembly, they are still part of the Congress Legislature Party.
Similarly, the three rebel MLAs of the TDP - Teegala Krishna Reddy, Talasani Srinivas Yadav and C Dharma Reddy - are being counted as members of the Telugu Desam Legislature Party. Their names have also been removed from the list of the TDP MLAs from the party's official website.
However, following the merger of the Bahujan Samaj Party with the TRS in the state, its two MLAs are being counted as TRS members. Therefore, as on Thursday, the party position in the Assembly, as announced by the Speaker S Madhusudhana Chary, stood as:
TRS - 65
Congress - 21
TDP - 15
AIMIM - 7
BJP - 5
YSRCP - 3
BSP - 2
CPI, CPI (M), Independent - 1 each
One nominated MLA
