Minister for Prohibition & Excise V Srinivas Goud today inaugurated a state-of-the-art table tennis academy at the NSL Centrum Mall in Kukatpally.
Local MLA Madhavaram Krishna Rao, SATS Chairman A Venkateswara Reddy, VC and MD of the Sports Authority Dinakar Babu (IAS), Secretary of the Telangana State Table Tennis Association P Prakash Raju and Chairman of the MLR Group of Institutions Marri Laxman Reddy were present.
The academy has Somnath Ghosh, the Indian national coach, working with it. And recently, Sreeja Akula, a student now at the Academy, won three medals at the Commonwealth Championships.
Speaking on the occasion, Goud said that he wanted the academy to put in all necessary efforts to win an Olympic medal for the country.
Vice-President of the NSL Centrum Mall M Venkatram felicitated the minister and the local MLA on the occasion.
