Revanth Reddy Proposes World-Class Sports University
The CM discussed the development of facilities at the Young India Sports University to meet international standards.

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy today proposed the establishment of a sports university in Telangana equipped with comprehensive facilities to train athletes, with a focus on the Olympic Games.
The Chief Minister held a review meeting on the Sports Department at his residence in Jubilee Hills. Ministers Vakiti Srihari and Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, Chief Minister's Adviser Vem Narender Reddy, SAT Chairman Shivsena Reddy, Chief Secretary A Ramakrishna Rao, Principal Secretaries to the Chief Minister Srinivasa Raju and Seshadri, SAT Managing Director Soni Baladevi, Young India Sports University Vice-Chancellor Dr G Kishore, and other senior officials attended the meeting.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister discussed the development of facilities at the Young India Sports University to meet international standards, and the establishment of infrastructure for various sports disciplines.
He reiterated the need for a dedicated sports university to facilitate Olympic training for athletes. He also recommended improvements to the Gachibowli Outdoor Stadium, and the creation of an indoor stadium, a university complex, hostel accommodation, sports grounds, and other training facilities within the stadium premises.
During the meeting, he also reviewed several proposed designs for the facilities and offered suggestions to officials regarding the plans.
He spoke about the importance of preparing plans to position Telangana as a potential host for the Olympics and the Commonwealth Games, citing the capabilities of the State's athletes on the global stage.
He also directed officials to modernise the Kotla Vijayabhaskar Reddy Stadium, the L B Stadium and the Saroor Nagar Stadium to meet future requirements for training and competitions.
