Minor Irrigation minister T G Venkatesh, on Sunday, demanded that the Telugu Desam Party and the YSR Congress party write a letter to the Centre in support of a united Andhra Pradesh.
Talking to reporters, in Hyderabad, Venkatesh said that it was a lack of opposition by political parties that led the Centre to take a decision in favour of a separate Telangana state. He said that the opposition parties, especially TDP and YSRCP, should come out in the open against the move.
Venkatesh said that Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy would resign from the post if the state is divided. Further, he said that Seemandhra ministers, too, would resign from their posts in such a case.
He said that if the formation of a Telangana was inevitable, then Rayalaseema should be made a separate state as well. (INN)
