T-Congress Against Changes In Metro Alignment

The Telangana Congress threatened an agitation if the State Government changed the alignment of the Metro Rail Project in the Old City of Hyderabad.
Hyderabad | 1st December 2014
The Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee on Monday threatened to launch an agitation if the State Government changed the alignment of the Metro Rail Project in the Old City of Hyderabad.

Addressing a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan, TPCC Spokesperson G Niranjan alleged that the State Government was forcing L&T Metro Rail Hyderabad to change the alignment between MGBS and Falaknuma.

He said that this change would deprive the people living in Sultan Shahi, Lal Darwaza, Hari Bowli, Aliabad and their surroundings from the benefits of the Metro Rail.

The changed route was likely to pass through the Musi River, Bahadurpura and Kalapather before hitting Falaknuma.

Niranjan alleged that the TRS Government had been functioning under the pressure of the MIM which forced the authorities to change the Metro Rail alignment.

He threatened that the TPCC would launch a massive agitation if any changes were made in the alignment of the Metro Rail route in the Old City. (INN)
