In a fresh twist to the Swami Nithyananda scandal, the forest department has found 2 kilos of sandalwood in the swami's ashram.
Also, the Karnataka Home Minister V S Acharya has ordered a probe into the ownership of the land occupied by the ashram at Bidadi, 40 km from Bangalore. According to Acharya, the land is meant for cattle grazing, and that if any violations were found, the government would try to get the land back.
Nithyananda is currently in hiding, and police teams have been dispatched to look for him as well at his mutts in Tamil nadu and Karnataka.

It's quite unfortunate that the media is making a furore about this:
1. Did anybody even get the Swami's version? Several people can make fraudulent sex tapes featuring almost anyone, especially if poor quality ones where things are not crystal clear can be passed off as genuine.
2. Even if the Swami did have sex, what is wrong? Who said teachers of meditation techniques, and social workers, cannot have sex? Did he take advantage of anyone or force anyone?
3. What is the religion of the people who own the channel that first showed this tape? Has it ever run such stories in all its existence, and with the same degree of sensation, about non-Hindu religious leaders?
I read somewhere that India is the only country where the majority community is persecuted.
Nithyananda has healed and helped millions of people around the world. This is not the first time a character assassination has happened in Tamil Nadu against humanitarian beings. In 2004, Sri Jayendra Saraswathi was assassinated the same way. Later on, everyone found out the truth that it was politically motivated conspiracy and withdrew and apologized for the rumors that spread. Hold your judgement until the legal process is started and the truth arises. Read this first: http://www.ivarta.com/columns/OL_060318.htm
