Social activist Swami Agnivesh on Sunday demanded that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao fulfill his promise of imposing total prohibition in Telangana.
Addressing a press conference, Agnivesh claimed that KCR, during the statehood movement, had promised to make Telangana a liquor-free state. However, that promise was not yet fulfilled.
Agnivesh said that liquor, drugs, Gutka and other harmful products were not only ruining the people's healths, but were also hurting the economy.
He announced that he would take out a rally to the residence of the Chief Minister to press for his demand.
APSA Director S Srinivas Reddy, POW President Sandhya and the representatives of several NGOs were also present. (INN)
