Prominent TRS and BJP leaders who were facing criminal charges in connection with the Rail Roko dharna during the thick of the movement for separate Telangana in 2011, saw relief as the court withdrew the cases on November 23.
Cases were booked against leaders including the present Telangana Ministers Nayani Narsimha Reddy, K T Rama Rao and Padma Rao, and BJP leaders including Union Minister Bandaru Dattatreya and MLA G Kishan Reddy for participating in the protest and disrupting the rail services.
But the Railway Court in Secunderabad, pronouncing its verdict today, dropped all charges against them.
