GHMC Commissioner Somesh Kumar said that the main aim of the "Samagra Kutumba Survey" was to identify the people of Telangana who were really in need of the government's welfare schemes.
As many 2,200 personnel have been trained by the GHMC to undertake the survey, he said. They have been briefed about the information to be filled in the survey report and on how to clarify doubts, if any.
One nodal officer has been appointed for each of the 150 wards in the GHMC limits. For large-sized wards, two officials have been deployed.
There will one Supervisor for a group of 10 Enumerators.
Another training camp will be held on Monday and Tuesday for the officials.
The Commissioner said that the Enumerator would visit the households in twice - Previsit 1 and Previsit 2. The first pre-visit would be taken up on Sunday (August 17), when the Enumerator would get familiar with the area and the people, and get to know the allotted houses' identification etc., so that he would be able to visit the allotted houses on the first visit.
The second pre-visit would be on Monday (August 18). The Enumerators would distribute pamphlets to the households so that the latter know the information to be filled in in the survey report and all the necessary documents to be produced.
With the pre-visits, the survey can be done in a very easy manner, Kumar opined.
Kumar also appealed all the citizens of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation to participate in the survey on 19th August, 2014, without fail, and register their eligibility to benefit from the new schemes which were going to be introduced by Government of Telangana.
The Collectors of Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy are planning to declare a government holiday on that day. (INN)
